DYNAUDIO EVOKE 10
Plug them in, turn up the volume and enjoy. We’ve created speakers that have been out of proportion to their physical size for over 40 years, and Evoke 10 is no exception. These are serious hi-fi speakers built for serious entertainment.
Top class bass speaker
Each speaker’s 14cm long-range mid-bass driver is made from MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer), just like all Dynaudio speakers have been used for decades. New designs to increase the excursion, expand frequency response and their low-frequency dynamics – all while maintaining mid-range performance.
Do you want to know the secrets of the woofer? The aperture is 0.4mm thin and offers just the right combination of lightness, stiffness and damping for optimal performance. It is made in one piece (the dust cover is part of this part) and is tied directly to the rigid fiberglass voice coil former directly below the Balance Ribs that you will see around the center dome. That means the whole unit moves as one, in a predictable (and carefully tuned) way, for a performance that strikes the ideal balance between bass and midrange.
The 38-mm voice coil itself is made of aluminum, making it extremely light. That means we can use more windings. More turns give us more control over the driver’s movement, which means more control over the sound, even at high volumes and high frequencies. It is kept stable, centered and true by the Nomex spin (the circular spring that makes the driver move when it shouldn’t, and makes it move when it should).
And it’s all powered by one of our new high-performance strontium carbonate Ferrite + ceramic magnet systems.
Cerotar: a brand new tweeter
At the top is the brand new 28 mm Cerotar soft-dome tweeter. Our engineers looked behind the curtain of the award-winning Special Forty and “Money is no object” Confidence tweeters and selected a number of key technologies to introduce Evoke. The main element is the Hexis – an ingenious inner dome that refines the airflow behind the playing surface to soften its frequency response and eliminate unwanted resonances. An additional advantage is that the soft dome can no longer be pressed!
The Cerotar, like the woofer, is powered by a powerful Ferrite + ceramic magnet assembly.
To link the drivers together is a high-quality second-order crossover that uses the Confidence’s design with several components. So, yes, when we say you’re getting high-end tech, we mean that too!
Fair Danish design
Evoke 10 is available in four beautiful finishes: Black High Gloss, White High Gloss, Walnut Wood and Blonde Wood. The shiny versions are really alone: new painting techniques have resulted in a luscious, almost glass-like finish. The wood versions use a tactile, open, natural veneer for a warm, dark tone or a light apricot look.
You may notice that you don’t see any mounting screws. Evoke has simple, clean trim rings that emphasize the cabinet finish as well as the moving parts of the drivers. The rings are cast in one piece, with the surface finish embedded in the casting process – so what we make is what you get.
